Tidal Film are a UK-based video production company with a strong reputation for creative, collaborative filmmaking. But they were at a pivotal moment. They were rebranding entirely, leaving behind a generic name and a website that had grown too corporate and too static to represent who they had become. The new brand needed to feel warm, creative and personal, without losing the professionalism their clients trusted. They also had branding work already underway with another supplier, but when those results came back, something wasn't right. With a website redesign already in motion, Ben and the team decided to bring the branding in-house too and explore what a fully cohesive creative vision could look like.

Designing a Brand That
Tells Its Own Story
The project started as a website redesign, translating Tidal Film's evolving identity into a digital experience that balanced professionalism with creative personality. Early on, it became clear that the branding work being handled elsewhere wasn't landing the way the team had hoped. They'd seen the placeholder creative direction developed for the web design and felt it was closer to what they were looking for. So they decided to bring the full branding scope to us.
We took the time to properly explore what Tidal Film could look and feel like, drawing on their love of the ocean, their straight-talking ethos, and their reputation for being genuinely great to work with. Three distinct brand directions were developed and presented, each fully realised across visual identity, tone and application. The team chose the direction that felt most authentically them, and that became the foundation for the entire website design.
